Open Role

Mechanical Engineer (MEP)

About CES

Since 1964, CES has served as a cornerstone of the "High-Stakes Infrastructure" sector, providing specialized engineering for the buildings that matter most—schools, government facilities, and complex commercial hubs. We are not your typical "assembly line" firm. We are a specialized team of experts that prioritizes "Common Sense" engineering, focusing on durability and ease of maintenance over unnecessary complexity.

The Role: Engineering with "Common Sense"

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who believes that the best design isn’t the most complex one—it’s the one that works flawlessly for the next 20 years. You will lead the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for educational, institutional, and commercial projects, ensuring they are functional, sustainable, and easy for facility managers to operate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practical Design: Develop mechanical systems that prioritize "universal maintainability," helping our clients avoid the "proprietary trap" of overly complex, high-maintenance equipment.
  • 3D Synergy: Utilize BIM/Revit to create precise 3D models, proactively identifying and eliminating construction-phase "clashes" before they reach the field.
  • Sector Stewardship: Design "hardened," reliable infrastructure for mission-critical facilities like detention centers and municipal buildings where system failure is not an option.
  • Sustainable Impact: Implement energy conservation measures that offer a real-world ROI, helping public institutions defend taxpayer dollars through 30-year durability standards.

Why You’ll Love Working at CES

  • Intentional Synergy: We don't just assign you a desk; we use Intentional Team Matching to place you on projects that align with your specific expertise and personality.
  • Institutional Legacy: Work for a firm with 50+ years of local history and deep "institutional memory" that provides a stable, specialized alternative to massive global conglomerates.
  • Long-Term Vision: Join a team that designs for the long-term owner, focusing on lifecycle ROI rather than just the initial bid.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a passion for MEP/FP design.
  • Proficiency in BIM/Revit for coordinated 3D modeling.
  • A "Common Sense" mindset: you value practicality and have a desire to understand the long-term operational needs of facility managers.
  • Experience or interest in high-stakes sectors such as K-12, Higher Ed, or Government infrastructure.
